We start with the Catalyst Awards, but that’s only the beginning. The Catalyst Awards offer prestigious recognition and meaningful support for Connecticut’s most active volunteers and civic leaders. Each comes with a $15,000 award in recognition of the Catalyst’s record of civic achievement. Catalysts are also invited to join The Neighborhood’s Community of Practice: a statewide peer community of Catalysts who support each other in accelerating their civic impact.
In August, we asked Connecticut residents to nominate the volunteer or civic leader in their community who reliably makes a difference and mobilizes others into service. The response has been amazing!
122 people were nominated for the inaugural Catalyst Awards by neighbors in 49 towns and cities, across all eight counties. We will announce the initial Catalyst Awards this November. Stay tuned!
